Established in 2011 by designer Irene Wood, History+Industry was founded with the desire to translate ancient artifact to powerful contemporary jewelry.

History + Industry founder Irene Wood’s background in painting clearly influences her dynamic, artistically creative jewelry. Wood’s background in painting informs the rich color and textural architecture of the bold, mixed-material statement pieces.

The rich, contemporary jewelry pieces inspired by ancient artifacts, and combine a mix of materials, hand-picked around New York, including metals, semi-precious stones, plastic, and dyed or painted wooden beads.

All metals, semi-precious stones, plastic and dyed or painted wood beads are collected locally in New York and hand-built in Wood’s Brooklyn studio.

History + Industry has been featured in the Huffington Post, Lonny, Southern Living, Daily Candy, Sunset Magazine, Coolhunting and is sold in several stores around the US including West Elm in Brooklyn, Flat of the Hill in Boston, Citizen Stone in Chicago, Glasswing in Seattle, to name a few.
