Collective Design Fair, New York
Event Information / Overview :
Collective Design began with a passionate group of designers, curators, collectors and gallerists, who together recognized a need for a new commercial and educational platform for the design collector and connoisseur.
Held for the first time in 2013, Collective Design is an innovative fair in New York City that presents a curated selection of the best in 20th-century and contemporary design from a global roster of emerging and established galleries. The fair is guided by two groups of industry insiders, the Collective and the Design Council, who recognize the need for a new design platform on the global scene.
The Collective is a passionate group of architects, designers, curators, collectors and gallerists. Their diverse experiences and shared enthusiasms have shaped Collective Design into a singular event guided by a vision of inclusivity, engaging both established collectors and visitors new to the field, and creating an environment where both discovery and education are celebrated.
Design Council members are part of the larger creative community who actively support the fair as an essential addition to New York City’s cultural calendar. Representing the fields of design, art, fashion and media, Design Council participants are constantly seeking new avenues for bringing design innovation and ideas to the fore, exploring the significance of design across creative disciplines and everyday life.
Collective’s commercial and educational platform focuses on the design process as well as the design object, engaging the entire creative community in a spirit of discovery. With exceptional programming, like-minded exhibitors and the avid support of the global cultural community, Collective presents a highly compelling vision of design today.
